Public Health Concentration
Students majoring in public health are required to define a Concentration in consultation with their academic advisor in the Public Health program. Popular Concentrations include Epidemiology, Global Health, Health Administration & Policy, and Community Health Promotion. Students may also build their own unique plan. Concentrations should align with each student's individualized exploration of their Flight Path, helping them prepare for career paths in public health that will best fulfill their interests and goals. The Concentration consists of a minimum of 12 credits of courses (max. 42 credits) from at least two different academic divisions. These courses must form a cohesive theme related to a clearly defined field within public health, and help students acquire relevant knowledge and methodologies within that field. Students may count no more than 50% of the course credits in their Concentration from a single department. If their Concentration is 12 credits, this means no more than 6 credits of coursework may be taken from a single department. If their Concentration is 42 credits, this means no more than 21 credits may be taken from a single department.
