BUSA 542 Global Strategic Management
Global Strategic Management equips students with the strategic, analytical, and leadership skills needed to navigate the complexities of operating in a global marketplace. The course examines cross-border trade and investment, global supply chains, international finance, and the political, economic, and cultural forces that shape global business environments. Students explore competitive strategies for multinational enterprises, global market entry, risk management, and the impact of international institutions and regulations. Through case studies, students analyze real-world challenges such as managing multicultural teams, adapting products and strategies to foreign markets, responding to geopolitical changes, and leading organizations in diverse global contexts. By the end of the course, students are prepared to make informed strategic decisions, evaluate global opportunities, and lead effectively in an increasingly interconnected world.\ Noteworthy: This course introduces students to case study work which will eventually be part of their culminating experience. Case studies in this course will inspire them to think of ways they can develop a professional study for their own case study later in the academic year. In consecutive courses Hartwick cases will be shared in the class to further motivate students to write excellent cases for graduation.
