BUSA 510 Organizational Leadership
Organizational Leadership equips students with advanced knowledge and practical strategies for leading individuals, teams, and organizations in dynamic and uncertain environments. The course integrates contemporary leadership theories with real-world management challenges, emphasizing ethical decision-making, strategic influence, emotional intelligence, and effective communication. Adopting appreciative inquiry, students apply analytical frameworks and leadership models to diagnose organizational issues, leverage diversity, drive innovation, and lead transformational initiatives. This course prepares emerging and current managers to inspire high performance, navigate complexity, and guide organizations with clarity, integrity, and strategic vision. Noteworthy: This course introduces students to case study work which will eventually be part of their culminating experience. Case studies in this course will inspire them to think of ways they can develop a professional study for their own case study later in the academic year. In consecutive courses Hartwick cases will be shared in the class to further motivate students to write excellent cases for graduation.
