EDUC 377 The IEP and Assessment of Students with Disabilities

This course will focus on special education evaluation and assessment for students with disabilities in public school systems. The procedures for utilizing assessment data in the development of an Individualized Education Program (IEP) will be discussed in depth. The course is designed to provide teacher candidates with knowledge, terminology, and skills of the basic principles of diagnostic, educational, and high stakes assessments. Additionally, students will develop differentiated assessments to meet the needs of diverse learners in inclusive classrooms.
