BIOL 300 Animal Development
Study of the patterns and processes of animal growth and development, from fertilization to adulthood, including aging and death. The topics include embryology and morphogenesis, regeneration, cell differentiation, gene expression, growth factors and cell signaling, pattern formation, and the evolution of development. In the lab, students obtain experience with living embryos, tissues and cells, and develop such skills as microsurgery, tissue culture, cytogenetics, histology, immunocytochemistry, and microscopy.
