BIOL 202 Concepts in Biology: Biological Information
The conceptual foundation for advanced study in biology emphasizing molecular and cellular biology, and experimental approaches used for discovery in this field. These principles are applied to the study of the major molecules that comprise cells, cell structure and function, heredity, mitosis, the central dogma of molecular biology, and evolution. BIOL 202 may be taken before or after BIOL 203. BIOL 202 is a prerequisite for 300- and 400-level biology courses. BIOL 202 (or BIOL 203, but not both) may be replaced by a Biology Advanced Placement test score of 4 or 5, together with a grade of A in BIOL 101. Prerequisite: BIOL 101
