BIOL 350 TIB Entomology

Insects comprise nearly three-fourths of the world's described animal species, occur in vast numbers, and play vital roles in all of our planet's environments. In this course, students will learn about factors responsible for the success of insects by studying their evolution, diversity, structure, function, and behavioral ecology. The relationship of insects to other arthropods will be examined as well as the environmental importance of insects and their importance to man. Laboratories include field trips to study and collect insects that will be prepared for a personal collection.
