ART 364 Moldmaking

This course will cover the basics of Moldmaking from basic open-faced molds to multi-part molds. Students will be introduced to the various applications, processes, and materials used in moldmaking including plaster, wax, bronze, silicon, slip-casting, and more. The course will look at artists using molds from antiquity through the early 20th century and present day. Students will create finished works and engage in critiques around their own work and that of their classmates.
