HIST 103 American Political History

This course examines politics in British North America/United States up to the present day. Topics include: the politics of empire and independence; the emergence of an American political culture; the Confederation era and the drafting of the U.S. Constitution; the origins and workings of the party systems; the changing concept of citizenship especially in regard to race, class, and gender; and the liberal state.
