BIOL 453 Bioinformatics
An introduction to the fundamental concepts and methods in bioinformatics, a rapidly growing field that applies tools in computer science to the understanding of complex data sets in molecular biology. Topics include basic coding skills, computational sequence analysis, sequence, gene calling, genome annotation, and proteomics. No previous coding skills required. Prerequisites: BIOL 191, BIOL 192, BIOL 293, AND any 300-level CM course
