SPMT 222 Sport Marketing

This course provides a comprehensive introduction to fundamental marketing concepts within the context of the sports industry. Key focus areas include the marketing concept, the marketing mix, consumer behavior, market segmentation, positioning, strategic planning, and the creation of a comprehensive marketing plan. Students will be challenged to interpret these marketing principles and apply them creatively across various sectors, including but not limited to sports and the health fitness maintenance industry. The primary goal is to cultivate essential skills in marketing analysis and managerial decision-making. Upon completion of the course, students are expected to:

  • Comprehend the distinct nature of products derived from the sports industry.
  • Cultivate critical analysis and problem-solving skills.
  • Recognize the integral role of marketing in the sports business.
  • Apply marketing theories and concepts to real-world marketing practices.
