ARTH 207 History of Photography
This course explores the history of the use of photographic images in cultures around the world from the invention of the medium in the 1820s through the present day. We will examine the relationship between photographs and the historical, political, religious, and philosophical context of the cultures that produced them and how they continue to communicate in ways that are unique to the medium.
