NURS 333 Gerontologic Nursing

Explores the field of gerontological nursing and the unique health care needs of the older adult. Students are introduced to myths, theories, and diverse perspectives related to aging. Demographic, social, cultural, ethical, financial, environmental and housing issues are explored. Therapeutic communication, evidence-based practice, nursing process, levels of prevention, and end of life care are presented. May be taken concurrently with NURS 334 ONLY by accelerated and three year students. Offered in the spring semester. (WL3) Prerequisites: NURS 234, NURS 334, SCIE 144, SCIE 345
