MUSI 250 Film Music
This seminar in music history will examine the history of film music from its very beginnings to the present. We will also examine a variety of topics related to music in film, including ways music is used in movies, how to talk about music, movie musicals, film music in Black culture, composers, the music of Disney, and iconic music moments in film. The course will include hands-on exercises in creating melodies known as leitmotifs, as well as a final project which entails acting out your own scenes to silent film music
