MUED 302 Contem Trend Mued/Secondary
The course focuses on developing instructional planning and effective teaching strategies and skills for the secondary music classroom in general music choral and instrumental specialties including lesson planning/rehearsal planning, use of technology, understanding characteristics of learners with disabilities, classroom management skills, and other current related topics. In addition, this course provides a historical and philosophical background for teaching music to secondary students, including techniques for teaching courses such as music technology, history, and theory. The course will include several projects involving music technology and its current applications to music education. Students will participate in field experiences within the community that provide interactions with community leaders and residents as a required component of this course. Offered every fall semester. It is highly recommended that a student take MUED 301 prior to this course, but it is not required. Prerequisite: MUED 100
