CISC 215 PC Systems
An introduction to PC hardware. This course will provide the student with the opportunity to explore the inner workings of a modern PC through lab assignments and lecture presentations. Topics include computer architecture, I/O subsystem, video system, microprocessors, memory, motherboards, secondary storage devices, system resources, networking hardware, as well as a survey of modern operating systems and their role in controlling hardware. Offered alternate years. Prerequisites: CISC 118 or CISC 120 and sophomore standing.
