SPMT 226 Budgeting for Sport Management
This course introduces students to the fundamental
principles and practices of financial management
in the sport industry. Students will learn how
sport organizations develop, manage, and evaluate
budgets across a range of contexts, including
collegiate athletics, professional teams,
recreational programs, and nonprofit sport
organizations. Key topics include revenue
generation, expense forecasting, financial
statement interpretation, cost analysis, capital
budgeting, fundraising and sponsorship
considerations, and financial decision-making
under uncertainty.
