Waivers and Substitutions of Academic Requirements

Waiver of Academic Requirements

Under extenuating circumstances, requests for waivers or substitutions of academic requirements may be made by a student, in writing, to the Registrar. When possible, the student should request a requirement be substituted with academic coursework previously completed; either by transfer credit or while at Hartwick. The Registrar will consider the request and notify the student, in writing, of a decision, which is considered final, within five business days. If approved, the waiver or substitution will be processed within five business days of notification and reflected on the student's academic record.

Waiver of Physical Education Requirement

Any student aged 25 or over is eligible for a waiver of the general education Physical Education Requirement. Eligible students wishing to request a waiver must submit their request, in writing, to the Office of the Registrar.
