THEA 322 Modern Drama

(same as ENGL 322) European and American plays written after 1850 and before the last quarter of the 20th century will be studied. Genres and movements such as realism, expressionism, and the Theatre of the Absurd will be considered when reading plays by such writers as Ibsen, Strindberg, Chekhov, Shaw, O'Neill, Brecht, Ionesco, Beckett, and Williams.
