POSC 278 Politics and Law in Asia
An examination of the politics of China, Japan, Korea, Taiwan, and several other states in the region. Students will evaluate these states’ politics and economics from the 20th century, particularly in the post-WWII period. The focus will be on transitions to market economies, the transition to and consolidation of democracy, the impact of civil society, and major challenges facing these states in the 21st century.
