Graduation and Commencement

Hartwick College has one commencement ceremony in May of each academic year. A student may participate in one commencement ceremony per degree completed. Participation in a commencement ceremony does not guarantee degree completion. Students who complete their degrees within an academic year are eligible for that year’s commencement ceremony. All students are required to submit an application for graduation to participate in commencement and to be considered for graduation by the Registrar. All application decisions are rendered by the Registrar (or designee) and communicated in writing.

Students with less than fifteen (15) credits remaining toward degree completion may apply to the Registrar’s Office for permission to participate in commencement. Applications must include a degree completion plan. Degree plan approval decisions are made by the Registrar and communicated in writing.
