ART 361 Intermediate Sculpture
Students continue to explore basic sculptural methods and build upon skills learned in Introduction to Sculpture. Students will be assigned projects involving wood construction, plaster sculpture, moldmaking, found objects, fibers, and metal. The course will also allow students to improve their skills using digital tools such as vector-based software and the X-carve(CNC) and laser etcher. Emphasis is placed on realizing sound three- dimensional concepts, experimenting with a variety of materials, improving skills, and considering concept in the creation of their work. Traditional and contemporary sculptural concepts involving construction, mixed media and environmental works are presented.
