HIST 335
During this course, we will work to connect the Yager Museum’s material objects to larger stories. For example, how did a French medallion come to an Indian village in New York? Why was it preserved? How should we remember its history? As such, this class will also explore issues related to public history: How and why are certain objects considered important? In what ways can material objects help to reconstruct a meaningful past? Class time will be divided between classroom discussions and exploring the museum’s collections.
