ARTH 102 Global Art Pre-History--800CE
This course surveys major artistic developments prehistory through the 10th century in Europe, Asia, Africa, and the Americas. The purpose of this course is to foster an understanding of the relationship between works of art and the historical, political, religious, and philosophical context of the societies that produced and made use of them, to explore human cultural diversity, and to build the fundamental skills of visual analysis and the critical concepts and vocabulary necessary for discussing works of art verbally and in writing. Offered every semester.
