PSYC 250B Tip/Language Acquisitions

This course will provide an overview of how children acquire language, from making sense of sounds in the speech stream to assigning meaning to words to combining words in grammatical order. Topics will include whether there is a "language instinct", how bilingual children learn two languages, whether languages can be learned outside of childhood, how language shapes children's thought, and language delays and developmental disorders. Prerequisites: B- in PSYC 110 or 111.
