POSC 317 American Political Thought

Students investigate significant themes in political thought in the American colonies and the United States. The course focuses on ideas about central conflicts in American political life—including conflicts over race, ethnicity, gender, and the role of government. Readings include both formal theoretical works and works intended to directly shape public opinion. Prerequisite: POSC 101 OR POSC 107
