A study of geometrical and physical optics. Topics studied in class and emphasized in laboratory experiments include refraction, lenses and lens systems, interference, Fresnel and Fraunhofer diffraction, polarization, and quantum optics. Offered alternate years. Prerequisites: PHYS 201 AND PHYS 202
