MUSI 141 Aural Skills

Sight singing using moveable and fixed "Do" systems, single-voice dictation, interval work on Mm2, Mm3, P4, P5, P8; distinguishing major, minor, diminished, and augmented triads; introduction to rhythmic exercises in simple and compound meters; chord progressions using major degrees of the scale. This is the continuation of a foundational block of courses designed to provide students a sufficient knowledge base in theory and aural skills. Offered every fall semester. Prerequisite: Ability to read music
