Forensic Science Minor

Forensic Science Minor Requirements

18-21 credits distributed as follows:

Three required courses

CRMJ 110	Introduction to Criminal Justice	3
CRMJ 120	Introduction to Forensics	3
MATH 108	Statistics	3

Only CRMJ 110 and one other SOCI or CRMJ course will be allowed to “double-dip” for students majoring or minoring in sociology and criminal justice courses (6 credits total).

One of the following Three Physical and Life Science courses**

CHEM 107	General Chemistry I	3
	Forensic Biology Course
GEOL 230	Forensic Geology	3

** Students can opt to take any of these courses to replace a course from the elective list below.

Two courses from an approved list, including***

ANTH 181	Intro Forensic Osteology	4
ANTH 225	Fundamentals of Archaeology	3
ANTH 381	Anthropological Forensics	3
BIOL 191	Introduction to Molecular & Cell Biology	4
CRMJ 275	Criminal Profiling	3
CRMJ 265	Criminal Investigation	3
CRMJ 310	Criminology	3
PSYC 111	Psychological Science II	3
PSYC 302	Clinical Psychology: Abnormal	3
SOCI 275	Understanding Violence	3

*** Working with an advisor or the program coordinator, students can opt to take other courses that could count for the Forensic Science minor, but all courses must be approved by the program coordinator.
